Introduction of the Department of Mechanical Engineering
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University is dedicated to integrating fundamental mechanics, intelligent design, advanced manufacturing technologies, and interdisciplinary applications to cultivate mechanical engineering professionals with strong theoretical foundations and practical expertise. Its teaching and research activities encompass a broad spectrum of areas, including precision mechanical design, intelligent manufacturing and mechatronic systems, micro- and nanoscale systems engineering, energy and thermal–fluid sciences, robotics and automatic control, optoelectronic and biomedical applications, rocket and propulsion technologies, as well as advanced materials and structural analysis.
In recent years, in response to the rapid global development of space technologies, the department has actively expanded its research efforts in related fields and has collaborated with the university to establish the Institute of Space Systems Engineering. Through the integration of satellite platforms, space structures, thermal control, and orbital simulation technologies, these initiatives aim to advance indigenous innovation and technological progress in Taiwan's space sector.
The department places strong emphasis on interdisciplinary integration and maintains close collaborations with disciplines such as medicine, computer science, electrical engineering, materials science, and management. These collaborations extend into emerging areas including biomedical engineering, artificial intelligence–enabled manufacturing, autonomous system sensing and design, and green energy and sustainable technologies, highlighting the critical role of mechanical engineering in shaping future technologies.

國立陽明交通大學 機械工程學系簡介
國立陽明交通大學機械工程學系致力於融合基礎力學、智慧設計、製造科技與跨領域應用,培育兼具理論素養與實務能力的機械工程專業人才。教學與研究領域涵蓋精密機械設計、智慧製造與機電整合、微奈米系統工程、能源與熱流科學、機器人與自動控制、光電與生醫應用、火箭與推進技術、先進材料與結構分析等多元面向。
近年來,因應全球太空科技的迅速發展,本系積極投入相關研究,並配合校方策略設立太空系統工程研究所,整合衛星平台、太空結構、熱控與軌道模擬等技術,推動我國在太空領域的自主創新與技術進展。
本系重視跨領域整合,與醫學、資訊、電機、材料、管理等學門密切合作,拓展至生醫機械、人工智慧於製造應用、自主系統感知與設計、綠能與永續科技等新興領域,展現機械工程在未來科技中的關鍵角色。
